The premise of the show is that Fry, an inept pizza delivery boy, accidentally freezes himself in a cryogenic chamber until he is thawed out in the year 3000. He then meets with a crude robot named Bender and a mutant named Leela. They eventually join with Fry's descendant, a man who is much older than Fry, who runs a delivery service thus giving them jobs. There are other characters which are presented throughout the series such as Dr. Zoidberg - a lobster looking creature who claims to be a doctor yet cannot perform the basics of human medicine. This is one of those series that was canceled years ago yet fans were able to bring it back. It's a good thing they were able to since it manages to draw in some of the largest ratings when it is shown.
